Another sodomy charge against Anwar but one starts to wonder about the authenticity of those charges. It does not take a CSI agent to know that glaring loopholes are already apparent in those claims lending credence to Anwar's claims of fabrication.

The sodomy allegedly took place after the March 8 election triumph for PKR making such a move by Anwar uncharacteristically foolish. It was moreover a close aide for Anwar at that time.

The natural anatomy makes sodomy a difficult practice and this requires a lot of co-operation from both sides. To allege that Anwar forced himself on him makes little sense for a man who can obviously fight back.

It's sad that once again Malaysian politics have become a circus for the international press, feeding on the naiveity of the population, government and police. The priority now is to authenticate the claims beyond any reasonable doubt and prosecute those who harbour malice. Any repeat of the 1998 farce will only derail any attempted recovery of the BN government.
